Well, my Kyro II has been exhibiting some slightly odd behaviour lately, and yesterday when I put my server back together it wouldn't work.
Boot up, fans start, everything looks cool... monitor doesn't come on. Okay, so I'll try it five or six hundred times... still no go. Tried a GF2 GTS in its place, monitor flickers on and it boots just fine. Switch back again, no go.
This really sucks, too. I don't have the loot to replace this card and my server depends on it. Looks like I might be theiving the ATI Rage128 from my GF's comp to get by for now; but that card is certainly not worthy.
Maybe it's time to OC the life out of the Rage128.. AFAIK it's so old it's actually got a passive heatsink
Anyway, any suggestions, ideas or theories on why this card just decided to die? I haven't really OC'd it that much, been at stock speeds for many months now under normal conditions. It does have an after market HSF on it (actually, it's the HSF from my GeForce4, the fan died on my Kyro and they NEVER sent a replacement, after multiple requests and many moons.. so I used that). Unfortunately the aftermarket fan voids my warranty I'm sure.
Well, I'm gonna go weep in the corner if anyone needs me
