Default 24" vs. 28" LCD

Is a 28" just going to be ludicrously huge? I run a lot of simultaneous apps and sit in front of my damn computer a lot. But I don't want too much. 28" just seems crazy but I'm really thinking about it.

I've never seen one up close, but from looking at the ones on Newegg, the 28" LCDs have the same resolution that the 24" ones do. So I would say if you are going to be looking at your screen from across the room maybe you want a 28" but if you are right in front of it you'll probably want a 24". Personally I would go with the 24" and spend the extra $250 on something else. Maybe some extra hard drives.

Very true... I've been trying to picture it on my desk and I do want to sit further away but not that far. The extra cost is hard to justify but I saw a few nice deals. I doubt I'd be unhappy with the size but for the extra cost I could probably get a much higher quality LCD which is a bigger priority.

I thin the Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP just won me over. Now I need to finish spec'ing my rig out and find some deals. =)

Pretty sweet. More money than I would want to spend though. My current 19" does the rotation thing... It's a neato feature but I never use it. Just make sure you don't get a glossy screen. That negates one of the best features of an LCD: no glare.

Mainly going for the best color depth and precision with S-PVA... sounds like it rocks. Haven't heard any glare issues at all but I did look at a few similar Dell LCDs in the stores and they were nice and clear. Haven't actually seen the 2408WFP on the shelf but I'd like to see it first.

Sweet. From this review it sounds like they're non-glossy. I did notice there is a 38ms input lag though, so you might want to look into that if you're going to be playing games on it.
