Damn these guys are good...

I really want to make vector icons. I have Illustrator 11 somewhere... didn't even bother reinstalling it after my last upgrade it's so fucking old now. Was thinking about submitting something to Sitepoint's Adobe Flex/AIR Contest to snag that free copy of Adobe Creative Suite CS3 Web Premium.

That's actually on page two of my "things I want to buy but simply can't rationalize the cost of right now" list, so I might hold you to that someday.

Do you use any other software for design work or mostly CS3?

CS3 pretty much covers it for me now. my main programs are Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Indesign (and flash sometimes)

I like competition as much as the next consumer. but goddamnit, Adobe just makes quality programs! I was mucho happy when I heard about the purchase of Macromedia (as I have been using cf studio and dreamweaver for most if not all of my coding)

Honestly (and I don't want to divert this thread we can start an argument thread elsewhere) if your primary objective is to work on a computer (not build one, tinker or whathaveyou) spend the money, buy a mac (hell you don't even have to run OS X, but I bet you will) super solid computer, and I can get you any software you want
