It has been a long time now since I shut down Fury-Tech Forums due to SPAM and lack of moderation/time. The old software was a nightmare to keep updated and moderated, and even with CAPTCHA and other controls the junk was getting through.

I have finally invested in vBulletin and finished migrating the board over to the new software. There are a lot of new features and changes with the new software, but there are also some missing elements (like Furions!).

We will be expanding with features and a new design in the future. For now we're going to try and make the transition to the new board, make sure everyone's profiles and accounts are working properly, and hopefully start hearing feedback on where we should go with FTF!

So please let me know what you think about the new board, what you would like to see, and hell just go post something cuz FTF is back baby!!!

Looking good. One minor irritation so far: When I post something, it flags that forum as having new posts, but the only thing new is what I just posted. Not sure if there's any way around that or not but if there is it would be nice if it only said there were new posts if they were from someone else.

Also, it wouldn't hurt to have another navstrip/breadcrumbs at the bottom of the page... That way I wouldn't have to scroll all the way up to find the link to get back to the root of the forums after posting something. I know, I'm a nitpicky bastard.

Thanks for the offer. I've gotten much more comfortable with vBulletin in the last year. This is the 4th vB forum for me, with a 5th probably in the pipes. Have you run vBSEO on any of your forums? MAN it is not cheap. But I decided to take the plunge with FTF and we'll see what happens.

Now I know who to harrass when I get stuck though.

I noticed that too - seems like it shouldn't be doing that. There might be an option somewhere, I'll look. Some of the default settings are basic to minimize DB queries on every load.

Synthetic you have any ideas?

Nitpicky is great. I need you testing all my software.

I'll look into that, too. I'd like to have that bottom nav as well. There is the dropdown forum jump menu at the bottom, but it's not as quick and you have to look through the dropdown for the appropriate forum.

Never messed with the vBSEO myself. Yea the view new posts function seems a little wonky to me too. Check your user cookie settings in the Admin CP, I think you may find the answer there.

I am digging the VB switch over... just no follow for sig links is harsh LOL...

phpBB captcha has been fully cracked apparently its easy enough to break with GOCR brute forcing it... glad the forums back yo!

Yeah it's the vBSEO MOD - it's either all or nothing unfortunately (not just sig links either) aside from a simple "white list". Temporary solution until I set a minimum post count on adding links and some additional sig link measures. There was so much SPAM for so long on these boards I'm trying to regain some of the composure in Google. Also with the way linking bad neighborhoods is being treated and the amount of time + money going into reviving FTF I'm going to do be careful.

That said... send me a list of domains you want in the white list and I'll add them.
